Applications
"Duplex was developed for use in the sulfite paper industry.  It is used in heat exchangers, high chloride marine applications, and in petroleum exploration equipment.   Also used in pressure vessels and chemical transport tanks."
Corrosion Resistance
"Named because its structure is approximately half ferrite and half austenite.  High resistance to crevice corrosion and pitting.  Good resistance to sulfide stress cracking.  May be subject to attack by reducing acids.  Has lower thermal expansion and higher heat conductivity than austenitic stainless steels."
