Machine
Screws
Machine screws are standardized in a variety of head
styles. Pan head and round head are the most basic where
the head of the screw is on top of the work surface.
Flat heads and oval heads are used when the head is
countersunk into the work surface. Fillister heads are
used in counter bored holes. Machine screws are also
available with hex heads.
The most popular drive
style on the machine screws we sell is slotted. Due
to high set-up costs and the lack of volume in high
Nickel alloy machine screws we discourage phillips drives.
As an alternative we recommend a hex socket drive.
Nickel Systems handles
machine screws #4 and larger. Metric sizes start at
3mm. Inventory consists mainly of overruns from previous
orders. Current inventory includes parts in Alloy C276
(Hastelloy C®), Alloy 20 (Carpenter 20®), 316
Stainless, 410 Stainless, and 416 Stainless.
