Double
End Studs
Double end studs have threads on both ends of the same
thread fit class. This is usually class 2A, or if looser
tolerances are allowed, commercial nut fit. The body,
the area between the threads, may be either equal to
the nominal major diameter of the threads or equal to
the pitch diameter.
In
practice, the thread lengths on each end vary between
customers. Therefore, Nickel Systems does not usually
stock double end studs, but will make them to order.
Depending on the quantity needed and the end application,
full thread studs may be a more economical or more quickly
available alternative.
Nickel
Systems stocks unthreaded bar in Alloy C276 (Hastelloy
C®) and Alloy 20 (Carpenter 20®) to facilitate
the production of double end studs in these materials.
We can also supply studs to A193 specs (B7, B8, B8C,
B8M, B8R, B8S, B8T), Monel® (Alloy 400), AL6XN®,
Duplex Stainless (Alloy 2205), Nitronic® (50 and
60), and other non ferrous materials.
